According to the research I conducted on the app market I found out that the app business is bigger than what I originally thought. More than 25 billion different apps have been downloaded from the Apple app store and that number is growing daily. 84% of businesses saw in increase in new business activity due to their mobile marketing efforts so that shows more and more people are using the internet and apps on their phones daily. It is predicted that by 2015, 81% of U.S cell users will have smartphones. People who buy and download apps are the people who actually use them everyday. The app world and people who own smart phones population is growing daily so it only makes sense to jump into the current trend of apps and create an app that will benefit people all around.  

According to the research I conducted on this app, I found out that most students take the bus during Elementary School and Middle School because their parents are working and can't drive them to school. 5/5 students have waited outside too long because their bus was late and 5/5 students have missed their bus at least one time in their life. Those numbers are too large and it should be changed. The longer students are waiting outside for their bus, the more at risk they are for getting kidnapped or stolen. The more students keep missing the bus, the more parents have to work to drive them to school every morning. Making an app that lowers both of these factors will benefit everyone who uses it.

Everyone who took the survey I put out said that this app would be beneficial to students and everyone who took the survey said that they would have used the app when they took the bus.

We are an e-based, direct distribution company and seeing as the internet and app market is exploding, I feel like it is the perfect opportunity to introduce this app to the public soon.

 

 

 

SWOT ANALYSIS -

Strengths - Original idea, promotes education and safety, easy to use

Weaknesses - billions of other apps competing in the app world, new, would need to work out bugs as the app is used more frequently

Opportunities - Design more tracking apps (an app that tracks where taxis are. They will light up on the map and you can touch it and have it come to you - one touch pick up)

Threats - Students and parents not wanting to use it

Competitive Advantage - original and safe idea
